Leading solar module manufacturer in India, Waaree Energies has received accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) for its testing lab at the Chikhli facility in Gujarat. This is the company’s second NABL-certified facility, with the first being its Tumb manufacturing unit.
The accreditation confirms the lab’s ability to carry out over 48 tests on solar modules, including thermal cycling, damp heat, and mechanical load tests. These tests are crucial for ensuring that modules meet international standards for safety, performance, and durability.
According to Waaree’s CEO, Amit Paithankar, the development allows the company to conduct high-quality testing domestically, saving time and resources while reducing reliance on foreign labs.
He said, “This milestone reinforces our efforts to make India more self-reliant in solar manufacturing and aligns with our commitment to providing reliable, efficient solar solutions.”

The company claims that the Chikhli lab can perform a range of specialised tests and accelerated performance checks to ensure solar modules operate effectively in diverse environmental conditions. It also strengthens Waaree’s ability to meet international demand, boosting the potential for exports.
Founded in 1990, Waaree Energies has a solar module production capacity of 13.3 GW and operates across India and in over 25 countries.
On Thursday, the company’s stock closed at ₹2,839.15, up ₹117 or 4.30%, on the BSE.
