Democrat nominee for the 2024 US Presidential election, Kamala Harris, launched an attack on his rival and Republican candidate Donald Trump during her address on Tuesday in what her campaign called a “closing argument address” in which she claimed that “Trump would force states to monitor women’s pregnancies.”
Speaking from the same spot where on January 6, 2021, Trump exhorted his followers to “fight like hell” and march to the US Capitol, Harris said, “Trump would ban abortion nationwide… restrict access to birth control and put IVF treatments at risk and force states to monitor women’ pregnancies.”
”…just google Project 2025,” she said, referring to an ultra-conservative wish list of policy proposals for the next Republican president by the Heritage Foundation think tank.
According to a report in BBC, a section in the 900-page document mentions that a future administration “should use every available tool, including the cutting of funds, to ensure that every state reports exactly how many abortions take place within its borders.”
However, there is no evidence of Trump planning to force states to monitor women’s pregnancies. Also, he has repeatedly sought to distance himself from Project 2025, saying: “I know nothing about Project 2025. I have no idea who is behind it.”
