
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren County’s FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 456 – Siege Robotics is heading to the World Championship after an undefeated run at the Magnolia Regional in Laurel. The team secured the title Friday, earning a spot at the World Championship competition in Houston.
The team is composed of students from Warren Central High School, Vicksburg High School, St. Aloysius High School, Porters Chapel Academy, and local homeschool programs. Founded in 2000, Team 456 has competed in events across the country, including in Arkansas, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Colorado.
The team meets and builds its robots at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg. The group’s mission statements aims to strive to build a quality robot, provide hands-on educational experiences for young people, and promote science and engineering in the local community.
