Global reactions are pouring in as the India-Pakistan conflict is reaching the boiling point. On Saturday, the Group of Seven nations, also known as the G7, urged both nations to maintain maximum restraint. Tensions between two nuclear-powered countries have been intensifying following the Pahalgam terror attack.
In the statement, the body of nations urged both India and Pakistan to engage in direct dialogue amid rising hostilities. “Further military escalation poses a serious threat to regional stability. We are deeply concerned for the safety of civilians on both sides,” according to the statement, which was posted on the official website of the government of Canada, a member of the G7.
“We continue to monitor events closely and express our support for a swift and lasting diplomatic resolution,” the statement further reads. One of the key aspects of the G7 foreign ministers’ system was that it started with the outright condemnation of the Pahalgam terror attack that led to the death of 26 innocent tourists in Kashmir and sent shockwaves to India.
