Treasurer Jim Chalmers will deliver the budget, outlining the government’s financial strategy, economic forecasts, and spending priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
According to Defence Minister Richard Marles, the budget will bring $1 billion in defence spending this fiscal year to boost the country’s military capability. Australia and other United States security allies are under pressure from United States President Donald Trump to increase defence spending, reported news agency Reuters.
