The BJP parliamentary board Monday deputed Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani as observers for the Maharashtra legislative party meeting scheduled to be held on Wednesday.
The meeting comprising all 132 newly elected Maharashtra BJP MLAs will pick the party’s new state legislative leader.
BJP insiders have already indicated that Devendra Fadnavis will
be the next chief minister of the BJP-led Mahayuti government in Maharashtra. The swearing-in ceremony will take place on December 5 at the Azad Maidan ground in Mumbai.
Accordingly, state BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule Monday visited Azad Maidan to inspect the ground. Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar also convened a meeting with party office bearers and MLAs to make plans for the swearing-in ceremony.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP chief ministers of other states along with a significant number of karyakartas are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
