Delivering the keynote address at the ongoing Raisina Dialogue 2025 in New Delhi on Tuesday, US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard clarified that “America First does not mean America alone,” shedding light on how President Donald Trump’s approach is often misinterpreted.
“It shouldn’t be mistaken that our Prez because is calling for America First is an isolationist. That accusation speaks to a deeper misunderstanding or wrong assumption that the only way to engage with other countries is through conflict. He wants a legacy of being a peacemaker and a unifier,” Gabbard said.
Gabbard also highlighted how national leadership prioritises its own country’s interests, referencing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to India and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon’s dedication to his homeland.
Gabbard also highlighted the enduring strength of the India-US partnership, emphasising shared democratic values and a commitment to global peace and stability.
